GIMLEVANG BOLIGUTVIKLING

A complete visualization and interactive experience for a residential development in Norway

Gimlevang Boligutvikling is a residential development project in Norway, created for a large developer in collaboration with our long-term partner Chris.

The project included both visualizations and a real-time Unreal Engine application.
We received the site model, architectural direction, and interior concepts, and our role was to bring everything into a clear and cohesive presentation.

Challenge

1. Managing a large and diverse scope

The project included exteriors, interiors, aerial views, and verandas.
In total, we produced 22 images across different lighting conditions.

2.Developing interior variations based on design briefs

One apartment had to be designed in three different styles based on designer briefs, each with a distinct look.

3.Combining static visuals with an interactive experience

Alongside static images, we also developed an Unreal Engine application, which required visual consistency across both formats.

Solution

1.Structuring the project into clear visual stages

We started with test images to align composition, lighting, and direction before moving to final production.

2. Creating a unified visual language

We ensured consistency across all renders — interiors, exteriors, and aerials — through controlled lighting, materials, and atmosphere.

3.Developing an interactive Unreal Engine application

We developed a real-time tool where users can:

– access it both online and offline

– navigate freely around the project

– explore apartments and balconies

– control time of day and lighting

result

1.A fully designed living space

The project resulted in a complete interior concept, ready for implementation.

The design addressed both functional and aesthetic needs of the future resident.

2.Clear communication of the design

The visualizations helped present the apartment as a finished space, making it easy to understand and evaluate before execution.

3.A balanced and livable environment

The final result is a compact yet comfortable apartment that combines practicality with a calm and modern aesthetic.

“Working with Chris has been one of those long-term collaborations that just keeps evolving in a good way. Over the years, we’ve gone through different types of projects together, but real estate rendering is where things really clicked.

Chris always knows what he wants, but at the same time gives enough freedom to explore and improve the visuals. That balance makes a huge difference. It allowed us to push the quality further, test new approaches, and refine how we present architecture.

What I personally appreciate is the trust — when you don’t just execute, but actually contribute to the final result. That’s when the work becomes more than just rendering, and more about building something solid together over time.”
