Warsaw Old Town Apartment

DESIGNING A COMPACT LIVING SPACE IN HISTORIC WARSAW

It is a small apartment located in a historic tenement building in the old part of Warsaw.

The project was not only about visualization — it required a full design approach. Based on architectural drawings, our task was to develop a functional and comfortable living space tailored for everyday life.

The apartment needed to balance modern living standards with the character of the existing building, creating a space that feels both practical and атмосферно.

Our role was to design the interior and translate it into a series of visualizations that clearly communicate how the space works and feels.

Challenge

1. Designing within a compact space

The apartment had a limited space, which required careful planning of layout, storage, and functionality.

Every element needed to be intentional to ensure the space’s comfort and logicality.

2.Working within an existing historic structure

The project was located in an old Warsaw tenement, which came with its own constraints — proportions, structure, and existing geometry.

The challenge was to respect the context while introducing a modern, livable interior.

3.Combining design and visualization

Unlike typical rendering projects, this required us to both design the space and visualize it.

The visuals had to clearly communicate design decisions — not just aesthetics, but functionality and everyday usability.

Solution

1.Developing a functional interior layout

We designed the apartment from scratch based on the provided drawings, focusing on efficient use of space.

Zoning, storage solutions, and furniture placement were carefully planned to make the apartment comfortable despite its size.

2. Creating a calm and cohesive design language

We selected materials, colors, and furniture that create a clean and balanced atmosphere.

The goal was to make the space feel light, organized, and visually calm, while maintaining a sense of warmth.

3.Translating the design into clear visualizations

We created interior renders that accurately represent both the design and the feeling of the space.

Each image was composed to show how the apartment works in reality — proportions, light, and flow between areas.

result

1.A fully designed living space

The project resulted in a complete interior concept, ready for implementation.

The design addressed both functional and aesthetic needs of the future resident.

2.Clear communication of the design

The visualizations helped present the apartment as a finished space, making it easy to understand and evaluate before execution.

3.A balanced and livable environment

The final result is a compact yet comfortable apartment that combines practicality with a calm and modern aesthetic.

“Working on this project was about making a small space feel complete and comfortable.

We had to think carefully about every detail — layout, furniture, materials — so that nothing feels random. In compact apartments, every decision matters.

The goal was to create a space that feels calm, functional, and natural to live in, while staying true to the character of the building.”
